As a result of the enactment of the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 several short-term and long-term changes will take effect. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and other government agencies are charged with issuing regulatory guidance to help employers interpret many of the provisions; however, this guidance may not fully clarify the provisions, and many may roll out after compliance deadlines for employers have passed.
